Cairn
In-house
A coding harness: the thing that stands between an idea and a finished repository when most of the typing is done by machines. Cairn decides what is worth building, holds the work to a standard before any of it is allowed to land, and keeps every project honest about what it actually is rather than what somebody remembers it being. It is the reason one person can run this many projects at once and have them held to the same bar. Nearly everything on this page was built through it. It is the most valuable thing we have made, and this is the most we are going to say about how it works. Being rewritten now that enough use has shown where the first design was wrong.
